Running Recovery in St Johns, Woking

Support your body between runs, reduce niggles, and feel more confident in your training with running‑specific recovery at My Complete Health in St Johns, Woking.

Our Running Recovery support is delivered through our existing Strength & Rehab sessions, led by Coach Kat at our clinic on St Johns Road.

What Is Running Recovery?

Running Recovery is for runners who want their body to cope better with the demands of training, not just “get through” each week.

Instead of focusing only on rest or massage, we use a mix of:

  • Targeted strength work
  • Control and stability exercises
  • Mobility focused on key running areas
  • Simple guidance around load and recovery between sessions

The aim is to help you:

  • Settle down niggles before they become bigger issues
  • Support areas that are tight, overloaded or vulnerable
  • Build resilience so you can enjoy your running for longer

How It Links To Strength & Rehab

Running Recovery at My Complete Health is delivered through our Strength & Rehab sessions, so you don’t need to find a different type of appointment.

Strength & Rehab sessions already focus on:

  • Rebuilding strength, control and confidence after injury or time off
  • Supporting your spine and joints so you can move well again
  • Using exercise, mobility and rehab rather than just hands‑on treatment

For runners, we simply tailor this towards:

  • The demands of your current training
  • The niggles or problem areas you’re noticing on runs
  • The distances, paces and goals you’re working towards

So when you book Strength & Rehab and tell us you’re a runner, we shape the session as a Running Recovery session for you.

Who Is Running Recovery For?

Running Recovery is a good fit if you are:

Training for a 5k, 10k, half marathon or beyond
Building up distance again after time off
Returning from injury and unsure how to progress
Feeling more sore or tight than usual between runs
Noticing the same niggles appearing each block of training

You don’t need to be fast or experienced – this is for anyone who runs and wants their body to feel better supported.

What We Can Help With

Common things we help runners with include:

Tight calves, hamstrings, glutes or hips
“Heavy legs” that don’t freshen up between runs
Knees, ankles or backs that feel vulnerable as training builds
Confidence after injury or a long break from running

In Running Recovery‑focused Strength & Rehab sessions we can:

  • Look at how you move in key running patterns
  • Use strength and control exercises to support problem areas
  • Help you adjust training and recovery in a realistic way
  • Give you a small, manageable plan to use between runs

What to expect in a session:

Your Running Recovery session (booked as Strength & Rehab) will usually include:

A short chat about your running – distances, goals, recent training and how you’re feeling.

A movement‑based assessment focused on the hips, knees, ankles and trunk.

Targeted strength and control work matched to your level and current training.

Simple, practical guidance on how to balance running, recovery and rehab.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer idea of what your body needs right now
  • 2–4 focused exercises or habits to work on
  • A plan to build things up gradually, rather than starting again each time something flares

Why Runners Choose My Complete Health:

At My Complete Health we’re passionate about helping people recover from injuries, enhance performance, and reach their full potential.

For runners, that means:

  • Expert Strength & Rehab support with Coach Kat, who regularly works with runners and active people
  • A joined‑up approach alongside chiropractic care, sports massage and running coaching where helpful
  • Real‑world advice that fits around your work, family and training, not a perfect‑world schedule

If you’d like your body to feel better supported between runs – not just when something goes wrong,  we’d be happy to help you put a Running Recovery plan in place.

Matt was recommended to me last year by a friend. I was struggling with a variety of ailments, back and neck pains and headaches. Matt assessed each problem and after each session I have felt so much better and even taller. I’ve been seeing Matt on a regular basis since my first visit which is keeping me well. I have no reservations recommend him.

I have been seeing Matt for over a year now from dealing with issues or just general maintenance and I always come out feeling brand new. Very professional and punctual and is also very flexible with appointments too. I believe you should see a chiro regularly on going.

Totally unprofessional. I travelled 40 minutes for an appointment. Everything was locked up with 2 minutes to the appointment time, so I left. No apology, just rude comments.

I had been recommended to Matt by my cousin and I can understand why. My lower back was in a very bad way and in just two sessions with Matt I am back to normal and the pain has gone. He knew exactly what the issue was and worked his magic. If I get any twinges I will go straight back to him. The staff are lovely and Emma the receptionist is also very friendly and you feel very welcome from the minute you enter. Highly recommend Matt to anyone who has back pain or any physical/muscular pain or strain. You will be in good hands.

The team were amazing and friendly from the minute I walked through the door. I had an initial assessment where Matt got to work straight away. I walked out feeling the immediate benefit. Thanks again, see you soon for my next appointment. Mark

I had an excellent runner’s MOT with Kat. She provided an in-depth analysis with plenty of drills, followed by clear and concise feedback. Would thoroughly recommend
