It is so frustrating when your knees stop you from doing what you love. All it takes is a sudden twist, an uneven bit of pavement on a run or simply wear and tear. It’s so important to look after your body and help keep everything moving for longer and staying injury free.
At the clinic we see a range of knee injuries:
- Patellofemoral Pain syndrome (often known as runner’s knee)
- ACL or MCL tears
- Meniscus Injuries
- Tendinitis around the kneecap
- Osteoarthritis
We also support patients recovering from knee surgery or dealing with overuse injuries from sports like running and golf.
How Can We Help?
Chiropractic Treatment
Chiropractic treatment can help in improving knee function, especially when there’s poor alignment or imbalances. Chiropractic care can help relieve pain and improve biomechanics by taking stress off of the joint and reducing compensatory strains. Chiropractic care isn’t just adjustments, treatments including electrical acupuncture, cupping and graston can also be used to help treat knee injuries.
Massage Therapy (Sports or Remedial)
This is a great way to help ease tension around the surrounding muscles. Often tight muscles including quads, hamstrings, calves and the IT band can often contribute to knee issues. Soft tissue work around the targeted muscles can often make a big difference. Cupping and dry needling can also be used to help reduce inflammation and relax the area.
Assisted Stretching
Many of us do not stretch enough, especially before and after exercise. By having an assisted stretch treatment this can help improve flexibility and reduce stiffness, particularly in the hips and lower limbs. This can really help with the knee and help feel less restricted.
1:1 Pilates
Pilates is another fantastic tool for knee recovery. Our 1:1 sessions help patients improve posture, alignment, and control. Often the muscles around the knee become weak, Pilates is a great all body workout!
Rehab and Conditioning
Once the injury has been determined, a rehabilitation and conditioning program can be made. These sessions can help with exercises to help strengthen the area and work on making the knee more stable and stronger. Often you can compensate during an injury so it’s good to work on your body to get back to its best.
Gait Analysis and Running Coaching
Those returning to sport, our gait analysis and running coaching can identify movement patterns that may be stressing the knee, offering practical solutions to improve technique and reduce risk. To get you back out running injury and pain free!
At My Complete Health, we don’t just treat the knee—we look at the whole picture. Often, knee pain is a symptom of deeper movement issues, and our integrated approach helps you recover fully and confidently. As a team we know how debilitating an injury can be, working together we can help you feel better.
